Introduction

At Green Lane Primary Academy, we believe that digital safety is a key part of safeguarding our pupils. As children spend more time online, it is vital that they develop the skills to navigate the internet safely and responsibly. Our online safety programme is designed to build digital resilience, helping children understand risks, make safe choices, and know where to seek help if needed.

Curriculum & Lessons

We use Project Evolve, a nationally recognised framework, to deliver structured online safety education throughout the school. Lessons cover topics such as social media, online bullying, digital footprints, privacy, and recognising inappropriate content. By embedding these lessons across the curriculum, we aim to equip pupils with the knowledge and confidence to use technology positively.

Responding to E-Safety Concerns

When e-safety issues arise, we follow a clear, structured approach to ensure the safety of all pupils. Project Evolve guides our staff in responding appropriately to incidents, supporting pupils, and, where necessary, involving parents, carers, or external agencies. Every incident is handled sensitively, ensuring that children feel supported while promoting learning from the experience.

Supporting Families & The Community

We recognise that digital safety is a shared responsibility. Parents and carers play a crucial role in supporting children’s online safety. When an e-safety concern arises, we can provide guidance and resources to help families understand the digital risks children may face and the strategies to help them navigate online environments safely.
