Curriculum Overview

At Green Lane Primary Academy, we have designed a curriculum which combines high standards and aspiration with a broad, balanced, rigorous and creative content.

There is continuity and progression, challenge and pace. We are passionate about bringing learning to life for all children and engaging them academically, emotionally, physically and socially in contexts which have meaning and purpose.

We aim to provide the building blocks for future success, in learning and employment, and to develop knowledge, skills and cultural capital with all children, regardless of their starting points.

We are determined to develop in children a sense of place and belonging within their community, country and world beyond. The industrial heritage of our local area is incorporated into themes which encourage our children to be proud of where they are from.

Our curriculum also provides opportunities for all children to develop as independent, confident learners, who are able to make a positive contribution to their community and wider society. We celebrate our diversity and encourage our pupils to be inquisitive, tolerant and respectful.

To find out more about our curriculum, please contact Mrs J. Thackstone (Deputy Head Teacher).
